The stubborn postman Ivan, who has a warm heart and a desire to help others, decides to run for mayor in his small town. The Bulgarian village where he lives is located at the border with Turkey, and they see refugees on a daily basis. Ivan believes that he can save both the people that are fleeing and his small town if he only could win the election for mayor. Then he would ask the refugees to move in and the little village would grow and live up again. This warm, delightful and somewhat tragic documentary, depicts today’s European dilemma with depopulated villages and people who are fleeing. Imagine how simple the answers seem to be sometimes.
